Where craft meets
scientific method.
CoffeeMind creates value by working across disciplines - bridging scientific methodology with business practice, beginner's mind with expert mind, and small businesses with academia. We seek partnership with colleagues in the business rather than competition.

"There is nothing more satisfying than using my full skill set to teach people about coffee from where they are."
Morten has taught coffee roasting at the London School of Coffee since 2007, ran barista training as manager of Kontra Coffee's training centre, and taught research design and statistics to medical students for five years. He used that combination - craft and method - to develop the roasting certification system for the Specialty Coffee Association.
He has consulted for roasteries of every size in South Korea, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Iceland, Sweden, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Singapore, Kuwait and Denmark.
We publish.
Then we teach it.
Our courses and consultancy stand on research we have conducted or co-conducted - mapping out a deeper understanding of coffee quality in cooperation with universities and industry partners.

Excellence, in a friendly environment.
We nurture personal and professional excellence by connecting our work with our deeper interests and talents - and we support our customers to do the same. We choose employees, partners and customers with whom we share direction in life. That creates win-win situations on deeper levels than a contract can.
Bridge, don't gatekeep
Science and craft, academia and small business, beginner's mind and expert mind - the value is in the crossing.
Partnership over competition
We seek colleagues in the business, not rivals. The industry is better when knowledge moves freely.
Evidence over inheritance
Coffee is full of inherited truths. We test them - and change our teaching when the data says so.
